This assignment focuses on creating a music app to discover, choose, and play music. Implementing illustrations to improve the experience and differentiate from mainstream music apps.
The app that I have designed targets a younger audience who is wishing to discover further into a variety of music. Showcasing all information that is often encountered in mainstream apps, but in a more illustrative and fun way, as I think this is something to improve on.
Reflection
In conclusion, this project was a great experience that pushed me beyond my creative limits, enabling me to develop my skills further. I encountered numerous obstacles, but the experience allowed me to create things that I would not typically do, which I believe is a necessary thing in my skill development. Overall, the project was a worthwhile investment of time and effort, providing a valuable learning experience that I will apply in future projects.
Compared to all projects, this focused more on the illustrative side. It really challenged my artistic and creative skills in order to create and include these into an app. I illustrated and created and extended system of icons which was incorporated through the screens. I encountered several issues, particularly with regards to the icon set. Initially, I intended to create hand-drawn icons that would fit with the illustrative aspect of the app. However, feedback on the final week for this project revealed that such an approach would not be suitable. Consequently, I had to rework a portion of the icons.
